The Wounded Healer is an installation based on an album under the same title composed
and produced by Mala Herba (stage alias of Hołubowska) and scenography textile created
by Bektas.
The work explores the collective and political dimensions of healing. The music engages
with collaboration as a fundament for new rituals. In the installation the textile becomes an
animated landscape blurring the edges between the rational and magical.
“When you just look at it from afar it could be the huge testicles of a dinosaur or some ancient monstrous creature who has engulfed every old woman who has ever lived on this planet. If you come closer and connect with it whilst listening to the sounds and witnessing it’s subtle movements, you dive into the soul of the piece which turns out to be quite fragile & trembling and shows the creature you faced before as vulnerable.”
